Nothing Changes

2006 has been a great year so far...but jam packed full of change. G-d bless Myspace, for real. In a matter of one month, I have tracked down TWO of my very close friends from my childhood, and traveled back home since I left in 94...words cannot describe what this means to me. When I left Arizona, I felt like my life was over, and that everything else that happened was never as good as how I had it growing up. Rather dramatic for an 11 year old, ey?

But its true. As a result of the move, I clung to every memory as though it was the only thing keeping me alive. I truly believed that I romanticized it so much, that I began to think it was all a dream, the past. Memories I had once read in a book somewhere; never my life. Now its all back...and tangible. It only took 12 years to get back to where I started. It hits me, people.

I'm back to the beginning, and this place...this is where I can finally grow up.

Fight Cancer- Support Chris Miller!

Hola, amigos!
We all know someone or have had a family member suffer from cancer.
Here's a chance for you to support the fight against it!

My friend Chris, a great guy and an officer in the Air Force, is running The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Marathon, and needs some support. I definitely know we are all strapped for cash, but even if you could even donate a few bucks, it would make a difference for a worthy cause. See his note and link below:

Well folks I officially will start my training (not like I haven't been working out for the training for the last 2-3 months) this coming Friday. However today I officially start my fundraising for the marathon (more important) today... You can see how I'm doing at the following site:http://www.active.com/donate/tntgmo/CMMUSAFPlease please please... give what you can... it is such a worthy cause!

Anniversary

Today is our 6 month anniversary. We started it off with a daring bout of breakfast this AM, followed by a small trek up north to the rentolas for chicken wings, puppy love, watching Jake Plummer throw passes directly into the hands of the Steelers, and accupressure. It was magnificent.

We snagged the first season of House to watch every single epi from day one, and so far it has been a delicious adventure of Mr. Laurie proportion. We all can't be Oxford-esque, Young-One snobs, but we can sure as hell man-crush and enjoy wicked sarcasm and American accents. YAY!

"LA la la DEE dah! MY father got me a job at the BBC!"

Ahh...I heart that show.

Puppy photos! YAY! Here they cometh.

Stabbing in your general direction...

Auditions yesterday were AWESOME. No matter what happens, I know I definitely killed it.

Interview tomorrow AM, which just so happens to be my last day of work here. Thank God.

PRJOECT RUNWAY COMMENTS:

Project Runway last night was ENRICHED with goodness. Marla seriously had it coming, and I have no idea how she was able to hang from the skin of her teeth this long. Diana wasn't that awful, but she was always going nuts with the same kind of straps (did you notice the lingerie and Nicki Hilton gown strap*theme?).

I knew there was absolutely NO WAY they would eliminate Santino and Nick, because they are the two top creative peeps on that show. But I would be careful, because Daniel V ALWAYS brings it. He is mad consistent, and while he may not win every week, his work is never sub-par. Andrae could also be the dark horse, but that denim thing he was working a few weeks ago was almost as bad as the breakdown he had along with presenting the garment. I love his outbursts the best, however. Four words, people: WHERE IS MY CHIFFON?

Top three: Santino, Nick, and Daniel V.

Wow, I am sick with obsession.

Just another day in paradise

I have 2.5 more days left at this job. Today there was an instance in which I wanted to *escape*, you know what I mean? Hmmm...actually there hasn't been a day in the past 6 weeks that I felt absolutely comfortable. It seems as though I can do absolutely no right at this job, and I find that to be HILARIOUS.

Duane has to work tonight. MER.

Phoenix this weekend. Pippin audition tomorrow. Tonight I need to secure some jazzy fresh jazz pants for some dance shenanigans.

I should be interviewing for another job this week or next...HOORAY!

Turns out that the kids didn't try to rip me off, ALTHOUGH I DID NOT receieve a call back from the dean of Mathematics at CU-Denver. WTF?

Duane's designated 'DAD MUG' arrived this weekend, which was grand. I also went to this po-dunk steak house in Elizabeth where teeth were most certainly an option, and by no means a requirement. The prime rib was mighty tasty, however, and the cook came out to chat with us during the meal, which was a surprise.

Sunday I was in a HELLACIOUS mood, so Duane got my butt out of bed, and we hauled it to the Stock Show in Denver because my mom was begging us to do so. I was a bit jazzed from watching 'Brokeback Mountain,' and was eager to immerse myself in the 'cowboy scene,' if you will. Also we thought being 'outside' might lift the spirits, and boy were we wrong.

First, cows and horses aren't our 'thing,' but we like to stay open minded. We paid 10 bucks to park, and 18 for admission. That admission price got you nothing but the privilege to be surrounded by vendors. And not just any vendors...vendors that sold crap that is identified and BANNED on 'Clean Sweep' and 'What Not to Wear.' Let's review the run-down, shall we?
-Lamps with NASCAR logos
-Quilts with WOLF/COYOTE/HORSE prints
-Denim vests

Need I say more?

Anywho, the parents were watching the rodeo ($9 per person extra!), and I refused to pay for that. So we ended up walking around, sneezing, and feeding some goats for an hour and a half. The drive alone was 1.25 hours long to the Stock Show, and we stayed just under 2 hours. I also bit Duane's head off for not wanting BBQ.

Yes. It was that bad.

This weekend: ROAD TRIP TO PHOENIX. Stay pertly tuned for pictures from our trip, and for pictures of me with goats. IT WILL BE AMAZING.

I immediately regret this decision

FIRST BIG MISTAKE OF 2006

I am so incredibly stupid. Some college kids came into the office selling cologne out of their backpacks and I bought some with my check card. I did not get a receipt, and I did not get a contact number. I.AM.AN.IDIOT.

I doubt these people are going to rip me off, but I have an incredibly sick feeling in my belly.

I called my bank. TWICE. They said to watch my balance, and that if I was overcharged, VISA would credit my account. I think I am going to wait for this transaction to go through, and then I am going to change my card information. I can't just cut off the card, because if the kids are legit, I don't want to scam them.

Ugh. This is what I get for wanting CK Euphoria at a fraction of the cost.

MOVING ON

Duane has to work tonight, which sucks. I'll most likely just sleep until he gets home, and then we'll go see BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN, and enjoy Jakey Poo on screen.

I am five years old.

Words are very unecessary

Project Runway tonight = awesome. Santino brings it every week, fo UH sho. Santino and Nick are going to be competing down to the wire, I GUARANTEE! Love it.

2 trips to Safeway = one successful spinach dip.

Breaking in the Frye's tonight. LOVING THEM.

Next week is my last week at the tech firm. I have Pippin auditions on Wed. If I don't get a paying gig, I will most definitely me on the job hunt, fo rizzle.

Wow, I can't sleep. We took a two hour nap today, and I am completely recharged.

In a world full of people

The weekend flew, people. NYE was a blast...Club Eden = fantabulous. I was jazzed we took a cab both ways, as the queue was over 100 people to be picked up from downtown. Our driver was a psychotherapist/equestrian illustrator making a couple bucks on the side. Sweet jodi.

Brunch on Sunday at Inverness cost over 330 buckaroos. Youch. And no, my friends, there were no banana fosters to speak of. I was PISSED. Chillaxed at the rents. Watched Harold & Maude. Bud Court has been in EVERYTHING. He reminded me of Kyle. Although he was 23 in that picture, he still looked 12 years old, which made the whole 'sex with Maude' thing TRES nasty.
