Nuveo Grunge
Yesterday was a whirlwind of interviews, getting lost, sweating the crap out of my shirt, nearly running out of gas, getting found, melting makeup, and high heel toleration.
Alas, it is Friday.
I should be hearing today if I got the hospital job (prime bennies and the like).
The night before last I couldn't sleep, as it was one of those nights in which life questions take over your whole body. I came to the realization that I live in the "future" 90% of my waking life. I am constantly planning what car I need to be driving, what house should I live in, what career should I stay in, etc. I have a feeling if I keep doing this, my life is going to pass me by quickly, and I'll be stuck wondering where the time went.
A large part of my issue is that I am blessed with a chronic paranoia about EVERYTHING. I worry about money. I worry about clothes. I worry about losing weight. I worry about what I want for lunch, as if it is a decision that is going to impact the rest of my life and my overall success. I think perhaps this time in my life is most delicate: maybe this is what the 20s are all about. We're stuck in this middle ground of "Holy crap, I'm supposed to be an adult now? Whoops. "
Its all rather overwhelming. I feel that I need to be ready for this "adult" life, and am stressing over the details that will send me well on my way in that general direction. I'm scrambling to put together a solid and impressive plan when the reality is that I am tragically ill-prepared.

During sex:
"Do you know how to make meatloaf?"
I met with an Aerotek guy yesterday to make all my career dreams come true this week.
The hair is gorgeous.
I just chopped a crap load of veggies to prep for massive meatloaf making this evening. I am really turning into quite the clever domestic goddess, don'tcha know.
So You Think You Can Dance is on TONIGHT! I have grown to freaking love this show. Benji is my absolute favorite dancer. LOVE IT. Watch it Wednesday nights on Fox.
Quite proud of myself for buying dinner and dessert ingredients with the necessary paper towel purchase and Nutella ALL for under 20 bucks. I was elated...I practically floated back to the parking lot to load 'er up.
The Safeway I go to is in intense renovation, and the Starbucks addition within is nearly complete. There's another Starbucks across the parking lot, not more than 100 feet away from the front of the grocery store. YAY.
Anywho, my meat should be defrosted by now.
MEAT.

Killer Goldfish
I need to get a hold of my dreams. Last night I had a dream that included killer micro goldfish, a photography job for Gene Levy, and a baton competition. Oy.
I got some nibbles from some jobs this past week and today, but the search continues. The new haircut is looking absolutely ace. FLAT.IRON.
FAX it.

Happy Tan
My time with the fam is coming to a close in a mere few hours, people.
I am saddened by this fact.
Today was an extraordinary day of Waterworld fun and hulabaloo. I honestly haven't had this much fun in months. Something about whooshing down a water slide in a crowded raft with your mom and sister (and laughing so hard you can't breathe) can prove to de-stress your life. It also can relieve the heavy, sticky weight of something awful lingering in your brain and chest.
Yesterday I spent about 45 minutes getting my coffee fix and horoscope browsing on in the local Starbucks. I decided to read the month in review and found that every prediction and call was absolutely true...right down to my job situation, our trip to San Diego, and my pending hair cut. TRES bizarre.
I also was surprised by my nieces and nephew's reaction to the engagement scrapbook. Duane had mentioned something about having kids someday, and the kids errupted in how cool a mom they thought I would be. I was really interested in why they thought this, and they all gave me sincere reasons that truly melted my heart. I've often wondered about how good of a mom I would be, but it was really cool to hear them say such sweet words.
Awesome kids. Its been great to have them here and to witness what kind of people they are growing up to become, and the talents that are blossoming from within them. I am truly impressed.
Yay.
Anywho.
I have about three hours of sleep to catch before I head back to Arizona.
I should get on that.
See you in AZ.

Family Vacations: Discovery & Birth Control by Osmosis
I found myself here in Denver on Wednesday...what a much needed siesta, indeed. I was definitely expecting a Jeep Wrangler to pick me up, as my parental units have unintentionally given away several clues as to the purchase of said vehicle. Tara whacked into me (I wasn't expecting her whatsoever) at the airport, and disgust for such a rude gesture from a stranger turned into great surprise to see her. Eli and mom were awaiting in a green Wrangler. I cracked up and got in.
Thursday I paid some bills as mom and dad prepped the house for Misty and her crew's arrival circa dinner time. Duane calls to announce that he will be driving up to Denver. I am introduced to the best play station game ever invented: Karaoke Revolution. I play against my nieces and nephew...internally struggling whether or not to let them win. Gabriella is my biggest foe, and she sometimes lets ME win. I found myself completely in the zone in a knockout round of "Killing Me Softly."
Duane arrives on Friday morning. I am sore from my air mattress deflating in the middle of the night to the carpeted floor. My stomach and allergies start acting up. We take in a day of shopping and festivities. The men play a round of golf in Denver. It rains twice, and the sun eventually comes out once again. Wings are grilled for dinner, we partake, and we are satisfied.
With Duane comes his air mattress that makes it through the night, yet I struggle still to wake up before breakfast is over. We drive to Golden State Park for an afternoon of hiking and many photo-ops. Dinner consists of a HOT DOG revolution and Make Your Own Sundae. Misty, Duane and I run to King Soopers for hot fudge, as this is a necessary ingredient for the Banana Royale.
Right now Mike and Duane watch the World Cup while I research new automobiles and contemplate the next few months in Arizona. I have an interview on Tuesday-->my flight isn't until 5pm, but I need to get there by 1pm for an interview. Enter my first STANDBY experience...we'll see how it turns out.
Anywho, I am completely zonked for the time being. Woohoo for Ghana, am I right? I'm sure the Czechs cried themselves to sleep. We're in it to win it, ya'll.
Photos next week.

Dreams are for FOOOOOLS!
In honor of the Strangers with Candy movie coming out this summer: Oh, victory will be ever so sweet.
I was reading just the past two years of my little blog-a-dola (there's more than just two years on this bitch) , and realized how much has happened in a short time. Two years ago today I was getting ready for my trip to Israel and working at Gart's. One year ago I went to the Air Force Academy graduation and was about to open Sweet Charity. I was also 30+ pounds thinner. **On a positive note, I would like to add that I am just as tan.
I also was about to go out with this guy named Duane.
Who would have freakin thought that a year ago from then I would be:
A. Engaged
B. Unemployed (YESSS!)
C. Living back in Phoenix
Life sure is a freaking roller coaster ride, people. My posts have also gotten shorter...it seems as though the quasi-married life doesn't really keep you up until 4am anymore. Well. That is, unless you can't sleep. Like me. Right now.
Sigh.
Only one year ago.
One Dolla Holla
I believe this is actually the most stressed out I have ever been in my life. My balance is completely thrown, physiologically AND mentally so. Tonight I was at a dinner shindig with Duane's co-workers, and I was experiencing difficulty finishing sentences. Phrases would come out of my mouth out of order, and I felt oddly out of place. This isn't like me. I called my mom to discuss said issues--->(my mind raced over possibilities...1. Preggers? NOPE 2. My brain is damaged somehow because of that trauma to my face? Maybe not).
Mom offered STRESS as a diagnosis. Not quite what I had in mind, but apparently stress can wreck havoc on the body. In one case of a newly married man, he experienced amnesia as a result of the stress of getting married, his best man dying, and life in general. He went to run a simple errand and forgot who he was. Authorities finally tracked him down wandering downtown with not a clue as to his own name or where he was.
Holy crap, right?
Absolutely
Anyway, with the events of the past 3 weeks (karma or something kicking my ASS), I wouldn't find this odd at all.
I just have to move along, and start living...its about damn time.

Bevakasha
I'm off to Denver on Wednesday for a week of R&R with the familia. Let's hope this vaykay stops the crazy cycle of events here in Phoenix. I just applied for 5 more jobs today, so hopefully these bitches will call me this week.
We did some BBQ-in last night, and the results were absolutely majestic.
Going out for some work shenanigans with Duane tonight...my hair refuses to cooperate.
EH.
Chicken nugs.

Back to the Beginning
Yesterday was my absolute boiling point. I really hate to bitch, but I've been barely able to deal with the events of the past few weeks. I've had the runs for two weeks, and I have skipped two cycles. Granted, this whole moving process is an absolute pain in the ass...my body and mind are struggling to keep up. Add to this situation the job hunt from hell. I won't go into details.
I need to exercise and get this funk out from under my skin.
Tomorrow.

Blastie Blast
Had an absolute blast in San Diego (only 6 hours away!) this weekend. Chris did a phenomenal job in the marathon, and we had some excellent times at Coronado Island. Pictures to come very soon.
The marathon-watching/supporting experience was amazing. Watching 22k people run AND finish 26. 2 miles = wow.
The job search and unpacking continues.

Cox Communications
Moved to Phoenix...officially. Two days before el move, my Jeep was dropped out of a semi-truck. Today is the first day we have our own freakin internet set up. Granted, the Ritz had a decent set-up...damn, I love that place. In addition to not having to use the internet at the current hotel, we finally have cable back with the life-saving DVR. I don't know how I lived without that thing for a week.
I'll speak of the Habenero Incident later....ahem.
ANYWHO...we're in the middle of painting the place. We're finally done with the orange bathrooms...tres retro with the b/w tile. Loving it.
My cell bill is 300 bucks this month, which me reminds me of the steep overages I had when I was in high school. Woops.
I had two interviews last week, and I will be covering the earh's surface with my resumes tomorrow once again. I found a niche within the professional theatre company here in AZ, and I'm going at it with full force. Wish me luck.
Duane's birthday was Sunday. We need to do a "re-do" in a desperate way. Long story short:
1. Andrea helps Duane with furniture assembly.
2. Duane's hand slips as he aggressively tightens a screw in the wood Andrea is holding steady.
3. Andrea's nose is punched by the rogue hand of Duane in an upward motion, a la "How to Kill Someone with Your Hand" in the Marine Corps guide book.
4. Andrea bleeds. A lot.

Oy
There are so many people I need to get back in touch with...even thinking about making all of those calls is overwhelming.
We're out of CO by Sunday...flying oot to Phoenix. Next weekend we're rockin Duane's b-day, then San Diego, and finally back to Colorado for a Misty Moment.
Good times.
Duane completely took me out tonight to The Broadmoor's Charles Court for dinner, and it was TO DIE FOR. Filet mignon? Yes. I'm still thinking about getting hitched there. I do love it so...the weather was freaking ridiculously perfect tonight. So romantic... we were right on the lake. The wine was exquisite.
We have SO MUCH to do tomorrow. The cars are being shipped out, and we need to pack el bags.
Good news: Austin is moving back to Phoenix! Sweetness.

Dodgers
The days are going by faster now...
The surveyor for the moving company came by this morning to check our house to get the low down on all the crap they will be packing for us on Friday. Sweetness.
Went out last night with Austin for Tikka and Stick It. A grand combo, indeed.
We're going to be in Denver tonight for the Dodgers game...fun times.
The Rockies are going to get slaughtered. Royally.

Enlightened
One of my most intriguing (he would never label himself as such) friends has started to write his book. THE book. And I'm telling you right now, its absolutely smashing. Its the kind of text that makes your eyes run over it fast and furious...as if it could disappear at any moment, and you would be lost without knowing the next word to follow.
Stuck
We're moving next weekend, and I'm wishing it was sooner. I need to throw away the bulk of my clothes, as downsizing is a must. Its an adventure that I've been dying to have. I love Colorado, but I've been keeping the wanderlust at bay for quite some time now...the right time.

Jack Black's Clenched Buttocks
Can't sleep. I really need to get my butt on a regular schedule.
Duane fixed my tail light today, and damn was that sexy. I have no idea what it is about a man that can fix some shit on your car with greasy hands, but it is stinking with hotness.
PEACE, LOVE, UNDERSTANDING...what's wrong with it?
I have missed an epi of Top Chef, and I am left NOT KNOWING WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS.
I'm hoping it is sleep within the next hour or so...

Fine Print
We are officially moving to Phoenix on May 21st, and we have found a place to call home downtown.
The trip was successful...the drive was tolerable...the experience was great.
We had our palms read by a lady in Tempe (which is awesome...like Boulder with a desert twist!) , and she was RIGHT ON. This was the first time I had ever had someone read my palm, and what she said brought tears to my eyes. CRAZY.
Saw MI: III....wasn't BAD, but it wasn't great. We still have to see Flight 93.
We have less than two weeks to get OUT of here...packing? Uh yes.
Off to run errands.
