Good job

I just saw a lovely clip of the new pornographic Jennifer Lopez music video. She's done an entire rip-off of every "Flashdance" scene down to the "water dumping" on stage. WHAT THE HELL? She's also dancing around in something that barely covers her ass. WHY? As if the objectification of women isn't already EXTREME enough in our media! We are objects to be bought and sold.

Sure, one could argue that by dancing around with her ass hanging out, Jennifer is forging the road for other female "musical artists" to beat her at her own game...push the limits. In five years (or less), it will be common for music videos to feature dancing naked women. We already condone that in our local nudy-bars downtown. What's going to stop it from merging into the mainstream...onto MTV? Very little.

As an artist, I would much rather present myself as a WHOLE person. I'm not a pair of boobs, an ass on your screen or face on a magazine cover. I do indeed think the human form is beautiful and should be appreciated, but NOT this way. Not this way.

Its hard to ignore the fact that crimes against women have risen four times faster than the general crime rate, and three out of four women will suffer a violent crime. Its difficult to ignore these shocking statistics. What the hell is going on in our society, people? When are women going to be perceived as whole human beings instead of objects to be fondled physically and emotionally?
